The tour guide picks you up at your hotel reception early in the morning. Drive to Austria. In Vienna, we first stop at the Schönbrunn Palace, where we visit the showrooms of the palace, once the summer residence of the Hapsburg family and home of Maria Theresia. Schönbrunn Palace, together with its ancillary buildings and extensive park, is one of the most important cultural monuments in Austria due to its long and colourful history. UNESCO catalogued Schönbrunn Palace on the World Heritage List in 1996, together with its gardens, the park and (last but not least) the oldest zoo in the world, as a remarkable Baroque ensemble and example of synthesis of the arts. After the tour of the palace, we make a circular tour of the city by bus. We drive past the Vienna Opera House (Wiener Staatsoper), the Art History Museum (Kunsthistorisches Museum), the Natural History Museum (Naturhistorisches Museum), Austrian the Parliament Building (Parlament or Hohes Haus), the University of Vienna (Universität Wien), the Vienna City Hall (Rathaus), the Stock Exchange (Börsenfachgeschäft) etc. Then, a guide takes you for a walk past Hofburg to the Cathedral of St. Stephen (Stephansdom).
